The Trump administration announced Thursday that it will release the final version of its tax reform plan on Tuesday, but the final proposal is still subject to negotiation and other factors.
Trump’s plan would raise taxes on millions of Americans by doubling the top rate to 39.6 percent.
The GOP plan would only raise taxes slightly, on average, on those earning $200,000 or more, according to a report from the Tax Policy Center.
The final plan also would eliminate the estate tax, which would have been a tax increase on most Americans.
The House passed a version of the tax plan earlier this year, but it didn’t pass the Senate and has not yet been put to a vote in the Senate.
