Chipotle is making changes to its menu and menu options to address concerns raised about its sourcing of ingredients, a spokeswoman said.
The company has said in the past that it only buys organic ingredients and has said it will add an organic option to its burrito menu.
Chipotle has been in a dispute with Whole Foods Market, which is based in San Francisco, over the sourcing of some ingredients in its burritos.
In November, Whole Foods agreed to buy Whole Foods for $3.8 billion.
Chipotles parent company San Francisco-based Chipotle said last month it is in talks with the Department of Justice over its food safety and labeling processes.
The department said the company had failed to take steps to prevent contamination in the processing of ingredients in Chipotle’s food, and said Chipotle failed to demonstrate that its suppliers had been properly trained and certified.
Chipetos suppliers and suppliers’ attorneys said the department was taking an overly broad view of the Chipotle situation and lacked evidence that Chipotle was the source of contamination.
